702,804. Fuel-injection pumps. SATZGER, E. Dec. 17, 1951 [Dec. 16, 1950], No. 29501/51. Class 102 (1). In a multi-cylinder fuel-injection pump in which the casing 1 has a chamber 2, for the return springs 8, with a lateral opening, the surface 11 of the casing against which the spring abutment plates 9 bear is machined flat and perpendicular to the axes of the cylinders. The plates 9 have cylindrical projections 12 that fit bores 13 coaxial with the cylinder bores for the purpose of centring the springs : the bores 13 are not greater in diameter than the bores for the guides 3. The lower edge of the bore 13 may be slotted at 18 to facilitate the removal of the spring 8 and its abutment plates by the tool 14.
