701,753. Making cased valves. TEVES, A., TEVES, H., and TEVES, E. A., [trading as TEVES MASCHINEN-UND ARMATURENFABRIK KOMMANDIT-GES., A.]. April 27, 1951 [April 29, 1950], No. 9951/5. Class 83 (2) In a method of making exhaust valve heads for combustion engines, a layer 3, Fig. 1, of reinforcing metal such as " Stellite " (Registered Trade Mark) is welded over a reduced end portion 2 of a cylindrical blank 1 which is first roughly forged to form a reduced diameter valve stem 5, Fig. 3, and finally forged in a die to produce a valve head having reinforcements 4 over its end face and on its seating surface 7. In a modification the reinforcement extends over the neck 8.
