401,096. Valves. WILCOX - RICH CORPORATION, 9771, French Road, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Jardine, R.; 9771, French Road, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.) Oct. 7, 1932, No. 27962. Convention date, Oct. 14, 1931. [Class 7 (vi).] A valve, particularly a poppet valve for internal-combustion engines, is formed by drilling a hole in a steel blank 17, Fig. 2, inserting a core 19 of copper or other metal of good heat conductivity, and then forging the filler end to form the valve head and the other end to form the stem, as shown in Fig. 1. In another form, a steel blank 34, Fig. 4, with a filling 32 of copper &c, is forged into the valve shape. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 370,641.
