Abstract
700,047. Treating wood. SUGA, K. Nov. 28, 1951, No. 27879/51. Class 140 In drying wood by the application of heat from without, e.g. by steam, smoke, or hot air, the process is interrupted for a time during which a heated aqueous solution of a chemical salt or of urea is sprayed on to the wood, the drying and spraying treatments being alternately repeated until the desired moisture content is attained. The salt may be sodium chloride, carbonate, or borate, potassium chloride, ammonium chloride, phosphate, or sulphate. The sprayed salt solution may be recovered and used again.
