Abstract

699,002. Pneumatic sucker fastenings. PUCKERT, E. W. Feb. 7, 1952, No. 3312/52. Class 44 In means for adjustably attaching an article to a suction device comprising a casing C and a diaphragm D mounted therein, the diaphragm D being operated by an actuating member N, the casing is provided with a bracket arm 1 forming one part of a hinge, the other part being integra with or attached to the article to be supported anc so arranged that the opera tion of moving the actu ating member will lock or release the hinge fitting. In the arrangement shown as applied to the mounting of an anti-dazzle screen, a hinge pin 4 is located;in sockets 8 formed by a supporting strap 6 and is retained in position by a bracket arm 10 mounted on a stud S for the member N. A projection on the arm 10 is located in a punched hole 14 forming a fulcrum 12 on the arm 1. The member N may be in the form of a spring-loaded pin. The head of the stud S embedded in the diaphragm D is preferably formed with a flange and projecting tongues, the latter being formed by a pressing operation. The material of the diaphragm may be P.V.C.
