Abstract

699,748. Pneumatic sucker fastenings. BIRCH, F., BIRCH, E. A. H., TYRRELL, C. J., and BIRCH, A. Feb. 15, 1952 [Nov. 17, 1950], No. 28094/50. Class 44 A suction mounting device of the kind comprising a sucker 7 of rubber or the like secured on the underside of an article 8 to be mounted temporarily on a smooth surface 9, is provided with a tab 12 of flexible material which extends from the aim of the device and is accessible externally when the article has been mounted in position, whereby the mounted article and device may be removed or detached from the mounting surface by pulling the tab away from the surface. In the arrangement shown, the sucker 7 is secured to the base 10 of the article 8 by an integral projection 11 on the sucker. The tab 12 which may be of rubber or leather may be made integral with the sucker or bonded thereto. In a modification Figs. 5 and 6, (not shown), the tab may consist of a U- shaped wire grip the arms of which are moulded into the body of the sucker.
