Abstract

705,257. Letter plates. CLEAVE, S. A. July 17, 1950 [June 1, 1950], No. 13787/50. Class 18 A letter plate is capable of being opened by means on the outside of the door. In one embodiment a push button 9 actuates an arm 5, one end of which contacts an extension 10 of the letter plate to raise it when the button is depressed. In other embodiments (not .shown) the arm may engage a projection attached to the plate. Alternatively the plate may be raised by pulling on a wire passing from the plateover a pulley to the outside of the door. The opened plate may close a circuit to operate a visible or audible signal.
