Abstract

1,199,215. Burglar alarm. CONTINENTAL INSTRUMENTS CORP. 25 July, 1968, No. 35600/68. Heading G4N. [Also in Division E1] An alarm can be recessed into a cut-out portion of a door-jamb as in Fig. 4, alternatively when the alarm device is not fitted this cut-out portion can be hidden by a cover-plate. The alarm which can be of a magnetic type could be one of may, e.g. in a block of flats, having a central alarm point within the building. A light 66 indicates whether the alarm has been correctly set by the key-operated switch 64. A magnetic circuit existing between a magnet in the door jamb and one on the door is broken by the opening of the door, this causing the alarm to be activated.
