Class 18 [Also in Group XXX] A stackable stillage has four corner pillars comprising hinged members 13, 14, a standard 19 extends from the lower part 14 when the member 13 is collapsed to engage the bell-shaped foot of the next higher stillage and support it clear of the collapsed components of the supporting. stillage. The upper member 13 has an internal ring fitting the top of the standard and a pair of plates 24 fitted with an off-set pin 22 slidable in a guide-way 21 on the member 14 to allow the upper part 13 to be lifted clear of the standard and then collapsed. Between the plates 24 are plates 25 to locate the upper end of the part 14 the plates 24 are secured by a nut 28 and clamp 26. When stacked the adjustable space between the collapsed members 13 and the platform 16 can be used to accommodate detachable side members and cross members can be secured by hooks 18. In a modification the standard has a lower part of rectangular cross section with an internal slot and a cylindrical upper part engaging the part 13 and passing between two plates extensions of the upper part 13 which carry the pin. In another modification the standard has an arcuate section and is either cornered at the top to engage the member 12 or the member 12 is extended to provide a seating. In a further modification the top of the standard is tapered and the foot is channelled.
