Abstract
871,431. Stillages. SCOTTISH AGRICUTURAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Nov. 10, 1958 [Jan. 20, 1958], No. 1828/58. Class 78 (4). The legs of a stillage can be adjusted so that the stillage can be supported either from shorter portions F 1 ... F 4' used when the stillage rests on the platform T of a vehicle, or from longer portions A 1 ... A 4 for supporting the stucture from the ground clear of the platform T. As illustrated, the legs are connected by arms C 1 ... C 4 to slide and hinge relatively to tubes R 1 on the stillage. In the position illustrated the legs are held against turning movement by rods B 2 on the structure which engage holes in brackets D 1 ... D 4 on the legs. When the longer ends of the legs are in use the legs are held against turning by engagement of the rods B 2 within tubes forming the feet F 1 . . . F 4 . Pins P 1 ... P 4 also hold the legs against movement laterally from the structure. The legs A 1 ... A 4 terminate in sole-plates G 1 ... G 4 . Jacking-points E 1 , E 2 on the stillage permit each end of the structure to be raised in turn to permit the legs to be pulled in or out and turned between the two positions. Alternative positions may be provided for the pins P 1 ... P 4 so that the legs of stillages in a stack 'may be staggered. The tubes B 1 and the shafts C 4 may be of square section, so that they must be disengaged completely before the legs can be turned between their two positions.
