Abstract
697,184. Electromagnetic switches. PIERCE FOUNDATION, J. B. Feb. 22, 1951 [June 17, 1950], No. 4313/51. Class 38 (v) In a switch in which successive energizations of an electromagnet 14 cause a switch arm 35 to move alternately into and out of engagement with a contact 38, the armature 23 has pivoted to its end a link 39 provided with shoulders 40, 41 which respectively and alternately engage pins 48, 49 on a centrallypivoted rocking member connected by means of the pin 49 to a shaft 50 which operates the contact member 35, a cupped disc 31 providing a snap action by passing through a dead-centre position. At each de-energization of the magnet 14, the armature 23 moves to the left and a cam surface 42 or 43 by engaging the pin 48 or 49 moves the pivoted link 39 into a position for its shoulder 41 or 40 to engage the pin 49 or 48 and actuate the rocking member into its alternative position when the magnet is next energized.
