Abstract

1363960 Electromagnetic contactors UNELEC 10 May 1972 [11 May 1971] 21980/72 Heading H1N An electromagnetic contactor has its movable contact member 14 pivoted at 16 to a link 16 having a fixed pivot 18 and is arranged so that a spring 23 acting between an armature extension 24 and the member 14 urges a stop 22 on the member 14 towards the armature 8. When the coil 6 is energized the member 14 moves with the armature until contacts 13, 3, Fig. 2a, engage. Further armature movement causes a stop-pin, 11, on the armature, to move the member 14 to produce sliding between the contacts (Fig. 2b, not shown). On de-energization the linking arrangement produces contact sliding after engagement of contacts 15, 5 (Figs. 3a, 3b, not shown).
