Abstract

696,041. Charging gas producers. SOC, AR.L. HEURTEY & CIE. May 28, 1951 [June 8, 1950], No. 12402/51. Class 51(ii) [Also in Group XXX] In a distributer for feeding granular fuel to a gas producer of the type in which distributer shoots are pivotally mounted about a common axis at differing inclinations to give a uniform fuel distribution over the fuel bed, the shoots 3 provided with scaling holes 22 are connected to a central sleeve 23 telescopically mounted on a feed shoot 30 secured to a revolvable platform 29. The sleeve 23 is secured by suspension claws 25 and members 26 to straps 27 on lifter screws 28 spaced around the platform 29 and driven by worm gearing 33 covered by casings formed with tubular caps 34 receiving the screws 28. The feed shoot 30 is surmounted by a rotary pocketed feeder 6 and an open funnel 7 disposed below an intermediate hopper 9 closable by slide valve 11. Above the hopper 9 is a main hopper 12 fitted with segmental gates 14 controlled by racks 15 engaging pinions 17 actuated by control chains 18. The platform 29 is supported on ball or roller bearings on a track 36 formed with inner teeth 42, the said platform being driven by a motor 40. As the platform revolves a pinion 41 carried thereupon engages the teeth 42 and drives the rotary feeder 6 through appropriate gearing.
