Abstract

170,543. Soc. d'Utilisation des Combustibles PulvÚrisÚs. Oct. 16, 1920, [Convention date]. Fuel, feeding.-Powdered coal is fed to furnaces by a rotary disc 2 provided with radial apertures 2a, each of which is filled with fuel from the hopper 1 and discharged into the passage 4 alternately as the disc rotates above the plate 3. The discharge of fuel is regulated by a sliding plate 5. The disc is carried by a vertical spindle 6 driven by worm or bevel gearing. A stirring- device 10 arranged in the hopper is operated by the movement of the disc. The plate 5 is inclined to the axis passing centrally through the passage 4 and the hopper and the apertures in the disc are sufficiently numerous to allow a continuous discharge of fuel.
