Abstract

341,857. Charging gas-producers &c. GIBBONS BROS., Ltd., Dibdale Works, Dudley, Worcestershire.-(Pistorius, 0. ; 19, Uhlandstrasse, Saarbrucken, Germany.) Aug. 21, 1929, No. 25472. [Class 51 (ii).] In a mechanically moved fuel distributer for furnaces, gas producers &c., an annular sealing- trough b on the roof of the producer &c. carries a stationary drum c in which is revolubly supported a hopper e carrying distributing shoots s and rotatable by gearing k carried by the drum c, the hopper also carrying a fuel supply device n which is rotated as the hopper revolves. The fuel supply valve n, which is supplied from a stationary supply 2 is rotated by means of a bevel pinion, not shown, secured to its spindle p and engaging a bevel track r on the drum c and the hopper is rotated by the pinion k mounted in the drum c and engaging the annular rack on the hopper. The mounting of the hopper comprises a ball bearing e<1> and retaining rollers z. The shoots s are pivoted at t to the hopper in the manner shown in Fig. 2 and are enlarged towards their outlets y which are somewhat radially disposed.
