160,155. Soc. d' Utilisation des Combustibles PulvÚrisÚs. March 12, 1920, [Convention date]. Fuel, feeding.-Apparatus for powdering fuel and injecting it into a furnace comprises a feeding-hopper 11 from which the fuel is delivered into a chamber provided with rotary beaters 2 mounted on a shaft 1. The fuel with air which enters the chamber through an opening controlled by a damper 10 passes into the casing of a fan 9 provided with two sets of vanes divided by a central partition. The vanes on one side deliver the fuel and air mixture, while those on the other side deliver air admitted through a dampercontrolled opening in the fan casing.
