Abstract

152,922. Killby, J., and Allen, F. C. March 5, 1920. Rotary furnaces.-Relates to drying apparatus of the rotary multiple chamber type in which the material is raised and allowed to fall upon a chute which projects, other than vertically, into another drum. It consists in providing each chamber D, E, Fig. 1, with a separate and separately controlled stream of drying gas, as by conduits B, H and dampers C, C, and in providing the common outlet duct F leading to the fan G. The gas is supplied from the single gas generating furnace A. Fig. 2 shows the arrangement in diagram when three sets of drying chambers in series are employed.
