Abstract

Fuel, feeding.-Coal dust and wood waste such as shavings, saw dust and the like are supplied to a furnace in definite proportions, the supply of coal dust being dependent on the supply of wood waste. As shown in Fig. 1, the wood waste in passing to the furnace through the pipe a drives a blade wheel b connected by a chain d to a worm at the base of the coal dust hopper f and serving to feed coal dust through the pipe g into the pipe a. The worm at the base of the hopper f may be driven by a separate source, of power controlled by the blade wheel b.
