723,791. Feeders for pea-sorting machines. SIMPLEX SEED SORTERS, Ltd., and BAIGENT, G. M. Feb. 25, 1953 [Dec. 4, 1951; Dec. 4, 1951], Nos. 28402/51 and 28403/51. ' Class 78 (1). Peas (Fig. 1) pass down shoot 1 into pocket wheel 5 which discharges them into shoot 8, the rate of discharge being governed by arcuate shutter 10. As shown, the shutter is pivoted at 12 and adjusted by pivoted cam 13. The feeder (Fig. 2) may be used to feed the pea-sorting machine of the type set out in Specification 436,032, [Group II]. The latter has driving- wheel 28 which drives drum 46 through pin 27 and rotates brush 36 through gearing 38, 39 and drives directly worm 29. Brush 36 is adjustable relative to trough 40, which itself is adjustable by cam 34. Drum 46 is formed of four semi-circular sections joined by blade portion 49.
