Abstract

1,097,606. Cigarette-making machines. AMF-SASIB S.p.A. SCIPIONE INNOCENTI BOLOGNA. April 1, 1965 [April 1, 1964], No. 13839/65. Heading A2C. The speed of a conveyer 5, driven by a D.C. motor 10, feeding tobacco to a distributor 1 serving, via suction ducts 3, a plurality of cigarette-making machines 4, is varied in accordance with the number of machines 4 operating. A plurality of resistors, one for each machine 4, is connected in series with the motor 10. Each resistor may be short-circuited by a switch 15. Thus, as each machine 4 is switched on, the appropriate switch 15 is closed and the resistor associated with that machine short-circuited so that the motor 10 runs faster and more tobacco is fed by the conveyer 5 to the distributer 1 to take account of the increased demand.
