Abstract

816,726. Hopper discharge. METALS DISINTEGRATING CO. Inc. Aug. 27, 1957 [Aug. 28, 1956], No. 26975/57. Class 78 (1). Material having low angle of repose is fed from hopper 16 by rotating table 11, the material passing down through the hopper and through the gap positioned between the hopper and the table and being discharged by rotating brush 45 down shoot 46. The edge of the table 11 is formed with grooves 42 to prevent the material from falling off the edge of the table at random. Hopper 16 is formed with an adjustable annulus 21. Brush 45 is driven by motor 47 adjustably mounted at 54 so that the brush rests upon table 11. Table 11 and hopper 16 rotate together being driven by motor 31 the adjustable mounting 34 of which is controlled at 39. Wire fingers may engage in the grooves 42 to clean them. Brush 45 may be replaced by a plough, the plough being adjustable and being fitted with scraper teeth so that if any material jams under the edge thereof only one portion of the blade will be affected.
