829,594. Grain shredders. ORSZAGOS GABONA-ES LISZTKISERLETI INTEZET. June 18, 1957 [July 4, 1956], No. 19201/57. Class 58. A grain shredding machine comprises shredding elements and a pair of spaced drums with peripheral cells for supporting the grains during shredding, the drums being mounted with their axes parallel and being oppositely rotatable to maintain the grains in motion and so enhance their being lodged in the cells. In operation, grain via a shoot 1 and feeder roller 2 pass to the drums 4, those lodging in the cells 3 being shredded by the cutters 7 mounted on pivotal forks 16. Shreds wedged in the cutters (which are sets of discs) are removed by scrapers 8 and pass down shooter c Shreds, not so wedged, on rotation of the drums, pass down shooter b which also receive particles removed by scrapers 14 from grooves in the drums. Material not lodging in the cells 3 is thrown back by brushes 6 rotating in a direction apposite to the drums and pass into a shoot a upon opening of a plate 5. The brushes 6, cutters 7 and scrapers 14 are all adjustable relative to the drums.
