Abstract

1,191,865. Comminuting apparatus. HOMA ENG. Ltd. 28 Oct., 1968 [26 July, 1967], No 34200/67. Heading B2A. Apparatus for reducing e.g. pieces of plastics materials comprises between a feed hopper and a lower casing with a wheeled delivery trolley 27, Fig. 1, a chamber containing a horizontally-mounted bladed rotor 5 Fig. 2 which cooperates with two stationary blades 7. Comminuted material passes through a replaceable sieve 24 and larger material is thrown back into the path of the rotary blades. The rotor comprises a block 9 having trunnions 10 and four blades 6, each with a double bevel edge 6a. Each blade has adjustment slots 12. Each side of the rotor has a support piece 14 which with four nuts and bolts 15 supports the rear of its associated blade. The fixed blades 7 have adjustment slots 16; adjustment bolts 20 and rear supports 19 carried by support blocks 18. The upper casing 3 including the hopper 4 may be swung clear as at 3', 4' to give access to the blades for adjustment.
