1315347 Comminuting apparatus BOHMTER MASCHINENFABRIK GmbH & CO KG 10 July 1970 33528/70 Heading B2A Apparatus for comminuting rubbish comprises a trough-like casing or housing 1, Fig. 1, having a feed shaft 2, a discharge grate or shaft in the base and a pair of contra-rotatable parallel shafts 6, 7 carrying cooperating knife blades 10, 11 each having a cutting tooth 10', 11' mounted thereon. A collecting container 5 receives the comminuted rubbish. Spacers and rings may be provided between the blades and each blade may include a rearwardly facing tooth 22, Fig. 2, which prevents material collecting between the blades and jamming the apparatus. The blades are replaceably mounted on hexagonal shafts 6, 7. Rods 3"' may be arranged in an outlet shaft 3", Fig. 2, in place of the screen, and thus prevent direct access to the trough 3 of the casing and the knives.
