Abstract

694, 984. Lighting fittings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and HUBBOLD, S. Dec. 11, 1951 [Jan. 9, 1951], No. 635/51. Class 75(iv) A lighting fitting such as a floodlight has a trough-shaped housing 10 for a lamp 18 or 19, formed with a projection 30 at one side edge which is engaged by an integral lip or flange 31 of a frameless transparent or translucent cover 11 having flanges 32, 33 to surround the other edges of the housing and held in position over the open, front of the housing 10 by means 36 engaging the cover at parts remote from the flange 31. As shown the housing 10 is pivotally mounted in a forked pedestal bracket 25 and houses a lampholder 16 arranged to receive lamps 18 or 19 of different enevelope size. The in. terior of the housing is provided or formed with a reflecting surface 12. The cover 11 which may be a domed pressing of plastic material has return-bent flanges 31, 32 on its sidc edges and its end edge: are formed with down wardly directed flanges 33 Clips 34 are pivoted to the end walls 13, 14 of the housing 10 and have in wardly directed ends 36 to engage and hold the cover 11 near the lower side edge of the housing.
