A lighting apparatus of the projector type, comprising, in combination, a housing having walls defining an interior chamber and a front window opening, lampholder means mounted on the walls of said housing in said chamber, a concave reflector mounted inside said inner chamber of the housing and having at least one opening next to said lamp holder means, cover means including a transparent window pane that closes said window opening of said housing, and articulating means connecting in a manner said cover means oscillatable to said housing for movement of said cover means entirely out of said front window opening to a position spaced a substantial distance therefrom to give free access to said interior chamber of the housing.
