694,645. Water-tube steam boilers. YORATHLEWIS BOILERS, Ltd. June 21, 1951 [June 21, 1950], No. 15525/50. Class 123 (ii) A steam boiler comprises an upper steam-andwater drum a from which a bank of Field steamgenerating tubes b, with inner feed tubes c, depend vertically to define one side of a combustion chamber h, preferably oil-fired, and the floor i<SP>2</SP> and roof i4 of the combustion chamber, also the slide i<SP>3</SP> opposite the said tubes b, are lined with U-shaped tubes i the limbs i<SP>1</SP> of which are disposed on the side of the tubes b remote from the combustion chamber and constitute downcomers. A superheater j may be located between the downcomers i<SP>1</SP> and tubes b, and doubleleg economizer tubes g extend downwardly from the drums a on the gas inlet side of the downcomers. The feed tubes c are supplied from a trough d as described in Specification 656,885. The end walls of the combustion chamber may be lined with Field tubes a. Specification 614,654 also is referred to.
