Abstract
684,136. Superheating and reheating steam &c. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd. March 1, 1951 [March 1, 1950], No. 4986/51. Classes 123 (ii) and 123 (iii) A steam, &c. boiler comprises furnace chambers 10, 42, which are lined with steam-generating tubes 76, have a common tube wall 48, and are separately fired by opposed burners 60, 62 and 64, 66 respectively, superheater sections 18, 19, 22, 21 located in a gas pass extending laterally from the upper part B of the furnace 10, and reheater sections 56, 58 in a gas pass leading from the upper part A of the furnace 42 to said other furnace part B. The superheater sections 22, 21 and reheater sections 56, 58 are preferably protected from radiant heat by arches 70, 84, and the reheater is screened from the upper part of the furnace 10 by the tubes 44, 46 of the wall 48. An attemperator 34 is fitted between the outlet header 30 of the superheater sections 18, 19 and the inlet header 38 of the sections 21. 22.
