Abstract

691,584. Firearms. BREVETS AEROMECANIQUES SOC. ANON. Nov. 15, 1951 [Nov. 25, 1950], No. 26802/51. Classes 92(ii) and 119 The ejector for cartridge cases 4 corn- Prises two members 5 pivoted at 6 to the breech casing 1, these members being so moved by the recoiling breech-block 2 that they exert a squeezing action on each cartridge case and compel it to turn round and to be ejected. The levers shown are acted upon by springs 7 and have surfaces o, a, b, which are engaged by an abutment surface 2a on the breech-block when the latter recoils. As shown in Fig. 3, the levers are so arranged that their ends 5a are disposed above the axis of the cartridge case, so that when the squeezing action takes place the case, which is still engaged by the extractor 3, is caused to move to the various positions shown and is finally ejected downwardly through the opening s. In a modification, Fig 5 (not shown) the rear ends of the levers are fitted with rollers which engage a cam surface on the breech-block.
