Abstract

696,350. Automatic firearms. BREVETS AERO-MECANIQUES SOC. ANON. Jan. 1, 1952 [Jan. 18, 1951], No. 92/52. Class 92(ii) Two parts of an automatic firearm which move relatively to each other when a round is fired are returned to their initial position by a torsion bar. In Figs. 1 and 2 two such torsion bars 9 are employed to accelerate the return of the breech-block 3. The latter is formed with a wedge 11 which, by their inclined faces 10a on the rearmost position, engages between two levers 10 mounted on the free ends of the rods 9, the other ends of which are secured at 2a, to the breech casing 2. The rods then exert a return force on the levers which, by their inclined faces 10a on the faces 11a of the wedge, accelerate the breech-block to its closed position. In a modification rollers are mounted on the levers 10 in the path of the wedge 11. As applied to an extractor 6, Figs. 5 and 6, the torsion bar 17 is secured against rotation at one end 17b in the breech-block and is secured at its other end 17a to a tube 18 which is journalled in the breech-block and which carries the extractor on a hexagonal part as illustrated.
