Abstract

687,339. Firearms. BREVETS AEROMECANIQUES SOC. ANON. March 14, 1951 [March 30, 1950], No. 17339/52. Divided out of 687,315. Class 92(ii) The breech-block structure in the form of a unit 6, 6a, 6b is movable with a reciprocating motion with respect to the breech case 2 of a self-loading firearm and is subjected to the action of a return system 18 which acts upon a part 16 carrying a pinion 15, the latter meshing with racks 14, 17 carried by the unit and breech case respectively. By this arrangement the displacement of the part 16 is one half of that of the unit. The unit shown is driven to the rear by the discharge gases which pass from the gun barrel through conduits 12 to chambers 13 where they act on the front faces of the bars 6a forming part of the unit. The other parts of the gun mechanism are the same as those forming the subject of Specification 687,315.
