Abstract
689,413. Hinges. CRITTALL MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. Jan. 9, 1952 [Dec. 15, 1950], No. 30686/50. Class 65 (ii) Pivoting adjustment. A friction hinge comprises a fixed leaf 1, an. adjustable band 8, the jaws of which are adapted to engage a member 5 on the fixed leaf, a swinging leaf 2, a hinge bush 9 which is interlocked with the swinging leaf to prevent rotation therebetween and which acts as a spacer between the leaves, and a hinge pin 15 locked to the fixed leaf. As shown, the member 5 is a tongue pressed out of its leaf, and adjustment of the friction band is effected by means of a screw 10. The leaves may be riveted or welded to frame and casement members, they may be long or short, and may be of angular or flat construction.
