Abstract
356,348. Gate fastenings. RICH, I., Kent's Farm, Hurstpierpoint, Sussex. June 25, 1930, No. 19292. [Classes 44 and 65 (ii).] A gate fastening comprises a slidable bolt 1 carried by brackets 4 on the gate and adapted to drop into the recess of a hasp 12 fixed to the gate post 11. The brackets 4 support also a plate 7 carrying a roller &c. 9 which slides up a ramp 10 on the hasp plate 15 to take the weight of the gate when the latter is closed. The hasp may have a second recess on its lower face so that it may be used for either right- or left-hand gate-posts. The gate may be adjusted for sag by providing the hinge eye on pivot 20 with a screwed bolt 21 passing through a plate 23 on the gate and carrying an adjusting nut 22.
