Abstract
199,628. Hall, J. S. July 29, 1922. Screw fastenings.- Window sashes are secured in their closed position by a threaded bolt engaging tapped holes in a pair of brackets one secured to each sash, or in a partially open position by screwing the bolt through the threaded bracket on one sash into one of a number of tapped holes in an arm pivoted to the bracket on the other sash. The brackets 1, 7, are L-shaped and are secured to the upper and lower sashes and have tapped holes 3, 6, respectively. Pivoted to the bracket 1 is an arm 10 with a number of tapped holes 11. To secure the windows in their closed position, the threaded bolt 5 is screwed into the holes 3, 6, of the brackets 1, 7, and to secure them in an open position, the bolt is screwed through the bracket 7 into one of the tapped holes 11 in the arm 10.
