Abstract

489,904. Bulkhead doors; hatch-covers. MASCUCH, J. J., and GORSHKOFF, A. S. Sept. 21, 1937, No. 25576. [Class 113(i)] A bulkhead door or hatch-cover is formed from two parallel spaced plates 11, 12 separated by a corrugated member 13. The plate edges are connected by an angle bar 18 which, together with the bar 19, encloses a rubber gasket 21. The door is fastened by clips, the shanks 34 of which pass through a sleeve in the door frame and is lubricated by grease through passages 40, 41. The ball catch 46 retains the clip in its open position. In one construction of hatch-cover the fastening clips are carried by the cover itself.
