Class 52(v) [Also in Group XXV] Brackets for supporting a bar, tube, cable, sling &c. from a structural member, e.g. a roof support in a mine, comprise a body 2 inclined to the axis of the member and provided with oppositely disposed hooks 6, 7 that wedgingly engage the edges of a flange of the member and are maintained in gripping position by the load 14 applied to the hook, socket, or slot &c., 4 carried by an offset arm 3. A reinforcing rib 12 opens the angle between the arm 3 and the body 2 that has also a flange 11. The hooks, 6, 7 have stiffening ribs 15 and the inside surface of the jaws may be serrated or otherwise roughened to increase the grip on the flanges.
