Abstract

531,708. Hand-carried vehicles. DEVINE, G. July 29, 1939, No. 22078. [Class 108 (i)] A device for carrying a corpse, invalid &c. comprises a sheet of, for example, cloth, which can be laid flat or substantially flat, the side edges being then parallel at the part corresponding to the other part of the corpse and tapering towards the foot end. After the corpse has been laid on the open sheet the side parts are turned over the corpse as indicated in the drawing and the edges 3 at the lower part of the corpse are fastened together as by a fastening means of the zip type, the sheet at the upper part being secured in the closed position by one or more straps 10. Carrying loops or handles 9 and reinforcing bands 14, 15, 16 are provided. The end edges 4 of the sheet are so curved that this part of the sheet assumes a curved form as shown when closed.
