676,138. Struts for mine supports &c. WATKIN, R. B. Feb. 16, 1951 [Feb. 16, 1950; March 13, 1950], Nos. 4027/50 and 6265/50. Class 20(ii) A strut for stanchions particularly in mines comprises pivoted clamping jaws 12, Fig. 1, each adapted to grip a flange. of the stanchion between itself and the associated hooked end 11 of the strut. One or both hooked ends of the strut may be formed of separate parts pivoted to the strut on the pivot 14 of the clamping jaw and may then be used between stanchions at differing distances apart. Another modification comprises a strut formed in two parts pivoted together.
