Abstract
685,957. Endless elevators. JONES, D. T., and JONES, G. Sept. 19, 1951. [Sept. 21, 1950] No. 23127/50. Class 78 (i). A conveyer, particularly for feeding hay to a baling machine, comprises an endless chain 11 on which are pivotally mounted tines 15 each having an angle or foot portion 15a adapted to engage a stop plate 16 on an adjacent chain link so as to prevent forward pivotal movement of the tine beyond a position in which it is substantially normal to the chain. Each tine is mounted on a spindle 14 supported in a pair of plates 11a and is held in its operative position by its foot 15a contacting a track 17. The track terminates at a point A just before, or just as the chain runs over the sprocket 13, permitting the tines to pivot rearwardly and withdraw from the hay being elevated which is now discharged over the top of the elevator.
