Class 78 (1) [Also in Group XVII] A pick-up baler in which the baling press lies alongside the collecting cylinder longitudinally with respect to the direction of travel of the press and has a vertical filling opening, to which the harvested material lifted by the collecting cylinder on to a collecting table, is conveyed by a transverse conveyer, is characterised in that above the collecting table one or more conveying member (s), which extends across the table and is set with conveying prong(s), is movable in a plane parallel to the collecting cylinder axis in such a manner that its prong(s) conveys the harvested material, lying below it on the collecting table. across this table and through the vertical filling opening into the pressing channel, and pass over this material without acting on it during its backward motion. Fig. 3, the bar 12 is oscillated by one crank 13 only, that above the chamber 11, the other end of the bar being guided by rollers 25 along rails 26 extending above the table 9. The conveying prong 14 may be carried by a separate bar 27 pivoted at its centre by pin-and-slot means 29, 30 to the centre of the bar 12, the other end of the bar 27 being guided on the rails 26 by roller means, which may comprise, Fig. 5, a carriage 28 on rollers 25 to which the free end of the bar 12 is also pivotally attached. In a further embodiment. Fig. 6, the bar 12 is oscillated by a crank 13 at the end away from the chamber 11 and runs on rollers 25 at the other end. A stuffing member 117 swung in an arc in a vertical plane by a link 120 pivoted to the end of the bar 12, compresses material laterally in the chamber 11.
