683,588. Root-crop harvesters. JUNNILA, L. J. Feb. 19. 1951, No..3982/51. Class 6(iii) A riddle for cleaning and aligning the roots dug by a harvesting machine comprises a rotary sieve, of shallow frustoconical form, adapted to run on its rim 1 at one side of the har-. vester, and to be supported by an additional adjust a b 1 e wheel 11, the sieve being rotatable about an axle 10, which can be either horizontal or inclined, and being composed of radial spokes 3 carrying sets of resilient cantilevers 7 which overlap to form the riddle. The device is coupled to the harvester by a draught-bar 8 which is connected to the hub 5 of the riddle by links permitting the inclination of ,the riddle to be varied. The rods 7 vibrate as the riddle rotates.
