Abstract

693,077. Agricultural implements. FOOT, E. H. W. Dec. 4, 1951 [June 7, 1951], No. 13574/51. Class 6(i) In a power-driven rotary tilling machine of the type in which arms F comprising digger tines are mounted on a shaft M below a second shaft on which are mounted cleaner tines which rotate in the opposite direction to the digger tines and which :serve to remove the soil carried by the digger tines, the arms mounted on the lower shaft M are shaped to hold the soil which they cut off during rotation. As shown each arm is provided with a tine L which abuts on a projection formed on the arm. The shaft M is reversibly mounted in the machine so that it may rotate in either a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. The arms are mounted in a hub K and the hubs are arranged on the shaft in groups the arms of each group being angularly displaced from the arms in the adjacent group. In a modification the tine is fastened to the inside of the arm. Specification 265,783, [CLass 6(i) ], is referred to.
