Abstract

832,554. Agricultural implements. OGLE, J. H. C. June 16, 1958, [April 16, 1957], No. 12327/57. Class 6(1). A machine for gapping and hoeing comprises cutters 25 arranged to rotate across the plant rows and driven by means of a shaft 13 from the tractor. The cutters 25 are mounted on a frame 12 removably attached to a wheeled frame 1 which is connected to lift arms on the tractor. The machine is steered between plant rows by means of an arm 6 connected to the tractor. The cutters 25 are mounted on shafts 10, 11 driven from shaft 13 by chain gearing 19, 20. The shafts 10, 11 are mounted on the frame 12 by bearings which may be adjusted laterally on the frame for use on plant rows of different spacing. A pair of rotatable discs 26 are mounted in front of each set of cutters and side hoes may be mounted in the machine to side hoe the rows of plants.
