Abstract
809,155. Agricultural implements. SOC. REMY & FILS. April 27, 1955 [April 28, 1954; June 4, 1954; Jan. 18, 1955], No. 12219 /55. Class 6(1). A weeding machine comprises a frame on which are mounted by means of cranked supports, a plurality of light weight discs provided with flexible tines which contact the ground and rotate the wheels, the discs being arranged to work the soil on either sides of rows of plants each disc being associated with means for adjusting the orientation of the plane of the disc with respect to the plane of the soil and with a means such as a spring, counterweight, or landwheel for exerting an adjustable pressure in each disc so that the discs may penetrate the ground. The inclination of each disc with respect to the direction of movement of the machine may be adjusted. As shown the discs may be mounted on a wheeled frame and steered by a handle 14 and connected by links 3 to a member 1 connected to a tractor. Fixed hoes may be provided on the frame to hoe between the rows of plants. The frame may be hinged and formed of one or more sections.
