Abstract
681,793. Impedance networks. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. April 5, 1951 [April 15, 1950], No. 7894/51. Class 40 (viii). In an alternating current power line 5 provided with a potential divider C1, C2, and C3, coupled with a transformer T to supply a reduced line voltage, and having a burden circuit B consisting of an inductance L and a resistance R in series, a circuit is shunted across circuit B including a resistance R, equal to that of circuit B, in series with a capacity C whose value is equal to L/R<2>. The effect of this is that the combined load on line 5 appears as a pure resistance for a wide range of frequencies. The final load HZ may be the voltage coil of a highspeed impedance relay.
