Abstract
732,054. Protective cut-out arrangements. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. May 7, 1953 [May 8, 1952], No. 11658/52. Class 38 (5). A protective arrangement for a liquid - immersed current transformer has a protective relay 17 with its operating winding connected in an auxiliary circuit to which a voltage is applied, at 16, the auxiliary circuit including a high-impedance winding 13, the impedance of which is adapted to be changed by the operation of a gas-actuated relay 9 so that the resulting current change in the auxiliary circuit effects the operation of the protective relay 17. The high-impedance winding 13 is carried on a core embracing either the primary winding 4 of the transformer or, as shown, an additional primary winding 14 lightly insulated from but connected to the winding 4, and the gasactuated relay 9 short-circuits the winding 4 or 14 as the case may be.
