Abstract
1,061,192. Testing circuit breakers. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-G. m. b. H. Sept. 25, 1963 [Sept. 28, 1962; Oct. 23, 1962; April 26, 1963 (2); June 5, 1963], No. 37734/63. Heading G1U. An arrangement for testing the behaviour of a high voltage power circuit breaker P on closing comprises a high current source G operating through the transformer T and a separate high voltage source consisting of oscillatory circuit L 1 C 1 and spark gap F which has a frequency higher than that of G. The two sources are each arranged in series with the breaker under test and are conductively connected to the latter before and during the testing. A capacitor C2 is connected in parallel with the high current source, and this capacitor lies In series with the high voltage source and the circuit breaker P, so as to by-pass the higher frequency current from the high voltage source from the high current source.
