Abstract

950,183. Protective arrangements. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. June 9, 1960 [June 11, 1959], No. 39319/63. Divided out of 950,182. Heading H2K. [Also in Division H3] In a time-overcurrent relay circuit, a signal representative of the overcurrent is applied through a time delay network R1C to a unipolar transistor having a Zener diode in its source electrode circuit so that if the signal exceeds the breakdown voltage of the diode for a given time the transistor conducts. The resulting voltage across the load resistor R3 causes the transistor T2 of a trigger circuit R2, T3 to conduct and so to operate a relay A.
