Abstract

927,468. Transistor switching circuits. NORTH AMERICAN AVIATION Inc. July 18, 1960 [Aug. 11, 1959], No. 24926/60. Class 40 (6). An arrangement for preventing excessive switchoff voltages from building up across a transistor switch, includes a transistor 1; a first output electrode 7 connected in series with a parallel combination of an inductor 9 and a diode 18; and a further circuit comprising a parallel arrangement of a diode 12 and a resistor 17 in series with a capacitor 13, connected between the output electrode 7, and a further output electrode 5. When the transistor is switched off by a pulse generator MV, capacitor 13 charges through the load 9, a resistor 8 being included to determine the charging time constant. The capacitor is discharged through resistor 17 when the transistor is switched on.
