Abstract
202,901. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (General Electric Co.) Dec. 18, 1922. Protective arrangements.-A load 3, 4 is protected by means of an electron discharge device 1, 2 connected in series therewith, the discharge device having the characteristic that its current-carrying capacity decreases when the voltage across its terminals rises above a critical value. The device 1, 2 is shunted by a winding 9 producing a field parallel to the cathode. In an alternating- current system, two oppositely connected electron devices are employed. Specification 184,194, [Class 38 (v), Electric switches &c.], is referred to.
